Growing up locally, I have a potent sense of customs that extends to all aspects of my practice. I am passionate nearly helping my patients and ensuring they receive the intendance they deserve. There is not bad satisfaction knowing that I am providing care to children, teens and adults from all backgrounds. I truly relish seeing my patients and throughout my career, I have sought to convey that excitement to all those that piece of work with me. I have been a kinesthesia fellow member in the Family Medicine Residency program for the last 20 years and enjoy teaching evidenced-based medicine to our students and residents.
Dana Spivak, MD

I am a graduate of The University of Michigan Medical Schoolhouse. I completed my residency at the Hinsdale Hospital Family Residency Program in Hinsdale, Illinois and am Board Certified in Family Medicine.
I previously served as faculty at The Brooklyn Hospital Center Family unit Residency Plan and more recently every bit Director of the Program in Family Medicine every bit well as Associate Managing director of the Principal Care Clerkship at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC). I have had various previous experiences including: serving on the WCMC admissions and curriculum committees, working with the Indian Wellness Service, engaging in medical mission work, urgent care and emergency room work, and serving equally the medical managing director in a rural health clinic.
I enjoy precepting residents, particularly in areas such as dermatology, HIV care, office procedures, billing and coding, as well every bit helping navigate career opportunities.
Christine Schultheiss, MD
FM Faculty/Women's Wellness
I am a proud full telescopic family medicine doctor. I did my medical training in and around Philadelphia at Drexel Academy College of Medicine and at the University of Pennsylvania Family Medicine Residency Program. Learning how to use medicine as a vehicle for social justice has been at the core of all of my training, and I am excited to contribute to that mission here in Hoboken. I do total spectrum family medicine, including outpatient, inpatient, and obstetric care, providing care to people of all genders and ages. I am particularly passionate virtually taking care of pregnant people and their babies, and completed a fellowship in Maternal Child Health. I honey instruction evidenced-based medicine and advocating for resident wellness. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my two cats and new baby ball python, blistering, crafting, and reality competition shows (peculiarly Drag Race and Project Track.)
Valerie Buisson, Doc
FM Faculty/Geriatrician
I am not originally from New Jersey but have chosen it home for the final couple of years. I was born and raised in nearby Brooklyn, New York. I attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. I completed my family medicine grooming at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH followed by a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the same facility. I am board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Prior to joining this program, I provided treat the fragile and elderly in multiple levels of intendance including hospital, nursing abode, clinic and in the domicile. I precept cases in the clinic with the residents and as well provide main care in a local function. I relish working with the residents, teaching them different ways to interact with and treat their patients.
Giuliana Capone, Psy.D.
Manager of Behavioral Health
It is exciting to teach the Family Medicine residents, students, and staff about the psychological aspects of a patient's existence. Physical and emotional characteristics are intertwined and information technology is essential for family unit medicine physicians to sympathize the connectedness between the 2. Residents develop a growing understanding of how to treat the "whole" person. Every bit the Manager of Behavioral Medicine, I encourage residents to engage in psychological exploration of the self and the patient. Equally a clinician, I have extensive experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance abuse, trauma and rehabilitation psychology.
Dineasha Potter-McQuilkin, MD FACOG
Faculty, Women's Health – Ob/Gyn
I was born and raised in Hudson County, so it is very heady for me to be involved with the Family Medicine Residency Programme hither at Hoboken University Medical Center. I completed my residency training at Drexel University College of Medicine/St. Peter'south University Hospital program afterward which I became board certified in Ob/Gyn. I relish teaching the residents about prenatal care, office gynecology, infertility, contraception and preconception counseling. I encourage the residents to gain noesis in all aspects of Women'south Health which will aid them in becoming a very competent family physician.
Joel Latorre, MD
Director of HIV Medicine
I was born in Chile and raised in Brazil. I have traveled extensively in both my professional and personal life, giving me the reputation of the world traveler in our grouping. Since medical school, my focus of interest has been HIV Master Care. In this field I accept establish the opportunity to use the Family Medicine philosophy to a new and exciting area of medicine.
In my role as the director of our HIV Programme and equally a Clinical Consultant for the federal government on HIV Medicine, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with individuals all over the country and abroad. My goal is to continue passing on my passion for this field to all of my patients, residents, and medical students.
Osbert Fernandez, MD

Managing director, Maternal Child Health Fellowship
I am double-boarded both in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Family Medicine. I am a fellow member of the kinesthesia of the NYMC Family unit Medicine Residency Program at HUMC of which I am an alumnus. I performed a residency in OB/GYN subsequently completing my Family Medicine preparation at HUMC. It was a joy for me to return to "my program" to help in the education of the Family Medicine residents. The Family Medicine residents perform their OB/GYN rotations with me at the Neighborhood Health Eye and at HUMC. I am very happy to work closely with the residents and share my knowledge and expertise with them. My particular areas of interest are medical management of missed abortion, endometriosis, high-risk obstetrics and laparoscopy.
Mark A. Canning, APN-BC, PMHNP-BC
I am dually licensed in us of New York and New Jersey as an APN in Adult Health and Adult Psychiatric Mental Wellness Registered Professional Nurse. I received a MSN Degree from Rutgers – The Land University of New Jersey. I have over 23 years of experience in HIV/AIDS intendance. I accept been kinesthesia in the Nursing Depts. of several institutions of higher learning such as Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey, Hunter College [NY], Felician Academy [NJ], and New Jersey City University [NJ]. I have a special interest in LGBTQ wellness care, and have conducted studies on Hispanic MSM.

We have a cadre grouping of faculty that are engaged in teaching our residents in the key rotations of Family Medicine educational activity. Residents uniformly requite high marks to our faculty and several receive repeated pedagogy awards and acknowledgements. Residents have a continuity FM practice experience with faculty/graduates of our plan.
